Huntington scored 847 out of a possible 1,000 points, edging out JPMorgan Chase Bank (836 points) and Fifth Third Bank (822 points). They were the only three large banks with an Indianapolis presence to beat the regional average of 821 points.
The top-scoring bank for the North Central region—which includes Indiana, Kentucky, Michigan, Ohio and West Virginia—was West Virginia-based City National Bank, which does not have a local presence. That bank scored 854 points.
J.D. Power based its study on responses from more than 88,000 retail banking customers at 200 of the country’s largest banks. Smaller Indianapolis banks were not included. Responses were gathered from April 2017 to February 2018. The study provided results for 11 regions of the country. Customers were asked about their satisfaction in six categories, such as convenience, communication and advice, and products and fees.•
