its acquisition of Keymail Marketing.
Founded in 2005, Keymail Marketing was a reseller of ExactTarget’s
e-mail marketing technology in the United Kingdom. The new division will serve as the headquarters for ExactTarget’s
operations outside of North America.
Terms of the deal were not disclosed.
The overseas operations
should allow ExactTarget to directly support the international needs of its clients and expand its offerings to marketers
in the growing United Kingdom and European markets, company CEO Scott Dorsey said in a prepared statement.
“The
acquisition of Keymail Marketing is a key component of our aggressive global expansion plan, and provides tremendous opportunity
to penetrate the U.K. and European market,” he said.
More than 70 European clients previously served by
Keymail Marketing now will be served by ExactTarget. Keymail Marketing co-founder Peter McCormick will lead international
operations from London.
ExactTarget’s foray into Europe comes four months after the company announced
a $70 million round of venture capital funding that has helped fuel its product-development and international-expansion plans.
