The facilities would be constructed on roughly 80 acres at the northwest corner of State Road 267 and County Road 550 South.
Becknell Industrial, a fast-growing firm with offices in Carmel, Chicago and Florida, builds spec and build-to-suit warehouse and light-manufacturing spaces across the country. It has requested rezoning the land from the rural agricultural zoning district to the rural light industrial zoning district, which permits warehouse operations.
The land is currently undeveloped and surrounded mostly by rural residential properties. Nine homes are located at the southeast corner of the intersection.
Building 1 and Building 2 would be about 213,000 square feet each, with Building 3 running about 583,000 square feet, documents show. The company has plans to install landscaping berms to separate the facilities from its surrounding neighbors.
The proposal was heard at a recent Zionsville Plan Commission meeting but was continued until next month after neighbors raised concerns about the project.
Becknell officials declined to comment on the cost or other details about the project.
Becknell Industrial has constructed spec and build-to-suit buildings in Whitestown, Plainfield and northern Indianapolis.
