In a notice to the Indiana Department of Workforce Development posted Monday, the company said the overall facility at 3030 Roosevelt Ave. will remain open, but the customer service department will cease operations.
Charter said it notified the employees June 28 that their employment would end Aug. 28. It said the employees will be given the option to apply for other open positions at the company. All but nine of the employees work in customer billing.
After acquiring Time Warner Cable and Bright House Networks in 2016, Charter began offering products and services under the Spectrum name and phased out the names of Time Warner and Bright House.
In addition to other operations, Charter has a Spectrum store at the 3030 Roosevelt site where customers can shop for new products, pick up or drop off equipment and make payments.
