As a subscriber you can listen to articles at work, in the car, or while you work out. Subscribe NowWISH-TV Channel 8 plans to extend its weekend news coverage by a half-hour on Saturdays and Sundays, the station announced this week.
New 8 Daybreak will now begin at 5:30 a.m. instead of 6 a.m. and run until 10 a.m. starting this weekend.
WISH-TV had previously aired various programming in the 5:30 a.m. weekend slot, including info-commercials.
The Indianapolis CW affiliate, which is owned by Nexstar Media Group Inc., will continue to run News 8 Daybreak from 4 a.m. to 10 a.m. weekdays.
The station, which now offers 70 hours of local news and programming per week, said it would continue to differentiate itself from other stations in the market by offering newscasts in “underserved time periods for local news.”
