Letter: Media elevates fringe politics

Nate Feltman’s column [Are you ready for the MDR party?, Sept. 14] gave voice to a lot of us who are deeply concerned about the state of our country and the extraordinary damage being done by the 10 percent fringes on both ends of the Democrat and Republican parties. I am also concerned about the role media is playing by giving a disproportionate voice to the far left and far right when 80 percent of us fall somewhere center right or center left. Finally, my life experience tells me that nearly all concerns can be addressed by people actually listening and conversing with each other. Old-fashioned, but it works.
