A few thoughts after reading the Jan. 4 Q&A with Joe Donnelly’s campaign strategist, Peter Hanscom. His obvious arrogance and disdain for folks not in possession of a college degree and implication of them in his candidate’s loss sent me straight to my keyboard without even finishing the interview.

He seems to be saying, “Yes, we would’ve won, if not for those intellectually inferior, non-degree-holding peasants who were incapable of grasping the esoteric superiority of Mr. Donnelly and the left.” That sentiment is so typical of the condescension and derision displayed by the left and demonstrates that, at the end of the day, neither Mr. Hanscom nor Mr. Donnelly have any idea why Donald Trump is the president.

Yes, Mr. Hanscom, I am well aware of the left’s vision for this country and I, like the overwhelming majority of Hoosiers who voted for Mike Braun, want no part of it. Your “vision” consists of mandating what I drive, where I live, how I’m able to defend myself and my family, increasingly onerous tax burdens, how I obtain energy, what I can say, what I can’t say, how I can consume my beverage of choice (no plastic straws), what size that beverage may be, allowing unlimited flows of illegal immigrants into my country and demonstrating more concern for their well-being than my own along with subsidizing their existence with billions of dollars of actual American taxpayer dollars.

Oh, and yes, I am in possession of one of Mr. Hanscom’s cherished “college degrees” and own a multi-million dollar business in Indianapolis. Spare me the lecture. I attended plenty of those in college.
