Minn.
Terms of the acquisition were not disclosed.
Great Plains Sports provides sporting goods to colleges and
universities, high schools, corporations and youth organizations. It also operates sporting goods store Steichen’s Sporting
Goods in St. Paul.
“This acquisition is the next step toward our goal of becoming a prominent, all-inclusive national
team dealer,” Hat World President Ken Kocher said in a prepared statement.
Hat World is a subsidiary of Nashville,
Tenn.-based Genesco Inc. Founded in 1995, the company has more than 850 stores in the United States, Canada and Puerto Rico.
