The 120-room hotel at 2721 E. 86th St., near Keystone at the Crossing, announced the recognition Thursday. It earned the rating in its first year of eligibility.
Ironworks Hotel Indy is owned by Beloit, Wisconsin-based Geronimo Hospitality Group. The five-story, 100,000-square-foot has three meeting rooms, 15,000 square feet of retail space and four restaurants: Blue Sushi Sake Grill, Rize, Provision and Daredevil Hall.
Only 6.3 percent of more than 27,000 hotels inspected by AAA receive the Four Diamond recognition. The only higher award is the Five Diamond rating, which is held by only 121 hotels in the United States, Canada, Mexico and the Caribbean. Indiana does not have a Five Diamond hotel.
In Indianapolis, the other Four Diamond hotels are all downtown:
— Conrad Indianapolis;
— Hyatt Regency Indianapolis;
— JW Marriott Indianapolis;
— Le Meridien Indianapolis;
— Omni Severin Hotel;
— The Alexander;
— The Westin Indianapolis.
Indiana has three other Four Diamond hotels: French Lick Springs Hotel, West Baden Springs Hotel and the Morris Inn at Notre Dame.
