Panattoni Development Co. LLC is considering building an industrial park near the Honda Motor Co. plant at Greensburg, according to the Daily News.

The Sacramento, Calif.-based developer asked Greensburg officials this week to extend utilities to the 425-acre site in the hope of attracting warehouses and light manufacturing. To aid its entry into Greensburg, Panattoni enlisted Baker & Daniels attorney Joseph Scimia, who helped Honda accumulate 1,700 acres west of Greensburg for the $550 million plant.

Panattoni built a warehouse in Plainfield that was leased to Epson America Inc. in 2005. This month, Panattoni started construction on a 143,000-square-foot office building at City Center Drive and Pennsylvania Street in Carmel.

Greensburg is the seat of Decatur County, which is between Indianapolis and Cincinnati.
