Subscribe NowThe U.S. Census Bureau’s National Processing Center in Jeffersonville plans to hire about 2,400 workers over the next three years to prepare for the 2010 economic census. The center will hire about 100 in the next two months, with another round of hiring in six months. The bulk of the positions will be filled in early 2010. Once all the new jobs are added, the center will employ about 4,100 and become the largest employer in southern Indiana. Most of the census jobs pay just over $12 an hour.
