A new index compiled by the Indiana Department of Workforce Development predicts registered nurse will be the job most in demand in the state from 2004 to 2014.
Registered nurses were followed by post-secondary teachers, computer software engineers and truck drivers.
Jobs on the list had to be in the top 200 in both total growth and percentage growth in the period, and the percent growth had to outpace the 9.9-percent average growth anticipated for the state as whole. The jobs also had to pay an annual median wage at least 1 percent above the state median of $27,742.
