The nine-county region generated 2,419 pending sales of single-family homes and condominiums. Such sales are signed but not closed.
Tucker, which receives the information from the Metropolitan Indianapolis Board of Realtors, said Hendricks County took the biggest hit-down 9.6 percent. Only Boone and Shelby counties posted increases.
For the year through August, the region is down 6.1 percent, to 20,957 pending sales, from the same period in 2006.
Listings are up 6.3 percent, to 21,038.
