An Anderson company controlled by retired Rolls Royce executive Mike Hudson has signed an engineering, manufacturing and distribution agreement with a global powerhouse, Seoul, Korea-based Samsung Techwin Co. Ltd.

IPower Energy Systems, which makes energy-efficient and environmentally friendly generators, gets exclusive Samsung distribution rights in markets including China, Korea, Vietnam, India, Australia, Russia, Ukraine and Kazakhstan. Samsung officials will come to Anderson to work on tailoring I Power systems to the new markets.

I Power systems are designed to produce electricity from fuels such as bio-gas and natural gas without polluting the environment, and can be quickly deployed in response to power outages or natural disasters.

IPower’s chairman and CEO is Hudson, who retired in 2002 as vice chairman of Rolls Royce North America. Hudson oversaw Rolls Royce’s sprawling Indianapolis aircraft engine operations.
