Subscribe NowMajor Tool & Machine Inc. will invest $20 million and hire 50 workers to expand near its headquarters at 1458 E. 19th Street northeast of downtown. The expansion will add 150,000 square feet to house automated production equipment, Indiana Economic Development Corp. announced today.
The announcement confirms a report Sept. 11 on IBJ‘s real estate blog Property Lines.
The expansion will be on the site of Ertel Manufacturing, which closed in 2002. The site has been rejuvenated through a $3 million brownfield cleanup. Major Tool received about $850,000 in incentives.
Major Tool, founded in 1946, offers engineering, fabrication and machining to industries including aerospace and defense. It already employs 265.
