Bingaman resigned in August to become the first executive director of the Central Indiana Regional Transportation Authority, which was created by state statute in 2004 to coordinate public transit in the nine-county area.
Ashley-Jordan is an environmental scientist and attorney who most recently practiced at the Indianapolis law firm Coleman Stevenson LLC.
She lived at the post while her father was a U.S. Army officer.
