Medco Health Solutions Inc. said this morning that it will build its $140-million pharmacy distribution center at AllPoints at Anson in Boone County.

The Franklin Lakes, N.J.-based company announced Nov. 12 that it would locate the center in the Indianapolis area, but that it still hadn’t chosen among Boone, Johnson or Hendricks counties.

AllPoints at Anson is a joint venture between Browning Investments and Duke Realty Corp.

The center could employ as many as 1,300 workers by 2012.

Construction of the plant is slated to begin in the spring of 2008 and, when finished, dispense as many 1 million prescriptions a week.

The state will give Medco up to $18.2 million in tax credits and up to another $850,000 in training grants. Boone County offered a $5-million cash grant for infrastructure and technology purchases. The town of Whitestown offered $7.8 million in property tax abatements.
