Subscribe NowA plant in Greenwood operated by Mitsubishi Heavy Industries Climate Control Inc. will close in September because the company lost a key contract with an undisclosed customer, according to the Daily Journal of Franklin.
Some of the 60 workers might be transferred to a plant operated by the company at its headquarters in nearby Franklin. The company might add an assembly line at the Franklin plant to make a new automotive compressor now made in Japan if it can secure sufficient tax abatements.
The Greenwood plant occupies part of a 442,694-square-foot building within Precedent South Business Center.
The company is owned by Tokyo-based Mitsubishi Heavy Industries Ltd.
