Hotel giant White Lodging Services said today it will expand its headquarters in the northwestern Indiana town of Merrillville and add 100 jobs within four years.
Two buildings on the town’s southwest side will be renovated at a cost of $4 million. The project will result in 60,000 square feet of space, according to the Indiana Economic Development Corp.
White currently has 116 employees at a leased headquarters.
Founded in 1985, White owns and manages hotels in 14 states.
In the Indianapolis area, White owns 10 hotels under Marriott brands including Fairfield Inn & Suites, Residence Inn, Courtyard and Springhill Suites.
White is developing a 1,000-room Marriott convention hotel in downtown Indianapolis with locally based REI Real Estate Services. The hotel is expected to open by April 2011.
