Frank Basile, one of the city’s veteran real estate executives, plans to retire May 1 after 33 years with Gene B. Glick Co., Glick announced today.

Basile is senior vice president in charge of the company’s property management division. The Indianapolis firm manages 17,000 apartments in 11 states.

“Frank helped to make our company a leader in the industry and will be missed as we build and manage additional apartments in the years ahead,” said David Barrett, executive vice president and chief operating officer of Glick.

Basile has served on the boards of a number of not-for-profit organizations. He and wife Katrina also have philanthropic interests in several arts and cultural groups.

He writes an occasional travel column for IBJ, which published a weekly management column by Basile in the 1980s and 1990s.
