Subscribe NowMarvel Industries Inc. plans to shift refrigerator production from Richmond to its plant in Greenville, Mich., resulting in the loss of 140 jobs in the eastern Indiana city, according to the Palladium-Item.
A timetable for the pull-out was not disclosed, the newspaper said.
State and local officials offered $2.6 million in incentives to keep the plant. The company initially discussed adding 100 jobs and moving its headquarters to Richmond.
Marvel, headquartered in Buffalo Grove, Ill., makes wine cellars, beverage refrigerators and other high-end under-counter refrigeration products.
The company is owned by Northland Industries of South Milwaukee, Wis.
