  1. Indeed, the stock market is “volatile” as the commenters on CNBC say almost every day. Even absent rising interest rates and inflation and Ukraine, it is an irrational beast that rises and falls from day to day for no logical reasons. Few people get truly rich off their investments there without having insider information to inform their buying and selling. Investing money in stocks or bonds is inherently risky, much the same as walking into a casino and throwing your money onto the roulette wheel or poker table. Personally I avoid both places because they each are volatile (the very word should strike fear in one’s heart; I mean, would you want to marry a volatile woman?).
