  1. I was a D1 scholarship student-athlete, and I don’t know anyone at my alma mater who competed on any athletic team, regardless of whether he/she was on scholarship or walked on, who didn’t work really hard. At the same time, most of us had a lot of fun while busting our butts. This “test” and related ruling are ridiculous and was probably written by someone who has no idea how hard it is to be a collegiate student-athlete.

    1. You mean Athlete-Students? The whole thing is a joke and ruining College Sports. Next up, Highschool Athlete-Students

  2. Another step in the destruction of college athletics. Progressive judge bent on turning college athletics into minor league operations. The lack of sustainable revenue generated in the other sports will end up boosting football and basketball players and decimating all the other non-revenue sports that are supported by those two.
But remember, if they’re employees, they should be fire-able for non-performance. Given the lack of academic ability displayed by many of them, it will be back to flipping burgers or pushing a broom in a number of cases. They should also be tradeable like pro athletes. Not cutting it at Alabama? We’re trading you to the Akron Zips for a player to be named later.
