Que the Democrat wailing
I think the logical complain is the Republican led legislature has curriculumed our public schools into failure.
The entire curriculum is failing our citizens and raising uneducated non-critical thinkers.
You hate new math? Thank our Republican legislature for forcing teachers into teaching it
Yes, agreed Chuck W. The point of Universal Choice is to help those who can’t escape the woke, bad schools they’re in. The “rich” or those of some means willing to sacrifice, can send their kids to private schools. Give the vouchers to the parents and let them pick the accredited school of their choice!
Sure, as long as they can get there.
You’ve know they’ve had choice for a long time, you can go to any public school you want. If you’re in IPS, you can go to one of those really nice schools in the donut counties… as long as you get yourself there. And it’s a heck of lot cheaper for everyone than taking your voucher to a private school charging $15,000+ a year and having to somehow make up the difference.
Why exactly does the state of Indiana not help with transportation if they’re truly interested in choice? If this is such an important issue, why are they in such a hurry to cut yet more taxes?
Most good schools don’t take vouchers still.
You’ve obviously not looked at private schools recently
Did they find the $86 million that got stolen by the virtual school enrolling dead kids yet, or are we all going to pretend that never happened?
And when do we get the better educational outcomes promised as part of implementing vouchers? If we’re diverting all this money to vouchers and the supposedly superior private schools, why are we rushing to lower the educational standards that Indiana students have to meet? Shouldn’t they be able to meet the current standards, if not higher standards, now that they’re going to better schools?
By the way, next time you want to see a textbook with indoctrination baked in, check out what a book from Bob Jones or Abeka is teaching kids with your tax dollars.
Carmel fishers IPS etc.
They’re all slapping screens in kids hands on the first day of school and not looking back.
Private school seems the only way to limit instruction by iPad in the state of Indiana
Wow! In case there are any other, more extreme Luddites out there, could you point us to private schools that don’t use calculators, projector screens, computer labs, nor abaci?
Robert – giving a kid an iPad for 5-6 hours every day or a chromebook is not the same as using projectors or calculators….
Basic logic would tell you that – but perhaps you went to a charter school where they take vouchers but dont even teach that…
