So the state legislature will pass protections for utility companies before they will pass protections for residents?
Seems about accurate
Looks to me as if this would protect both utilities and residents. Yes, it’s getting done because the utilities are behind it, but it’s a good thing when the interests of the powerful align with those of the weaker parties and all can gain.
Honest to goodness Indiana, JJ. It’s The State That Works.
Residents are being protected as by-product…. Trickle down economics finally works I guess?
Tenant protections would be to have the option to not pay rent thise 60 days when utilities have been shut off…
Imagine legally having to pay for rent while your utilities are shut off by your landlord. Because that’s the works these people have lived in.
Why criticize a good bill being proposed? Just because it took a lawsuit to change the culture and spawn needed legislation doesn’t mean it does not have merit. Residents will be protected by this legislation. If we lived in a perfect world, we would not need laws like this, but utopia does not exist on earth.
