  1. It is time to really re-evaluate education as a whole in this country. Teach civics, economics, and “life” courses along with regular curriculum in 9th and 10th grade. Follow suit with many other developed countries and make 11th and 12th grade both optional and equivalent to community college so that university is only 2-3 years instead of 4-5. Stop offering federally-backed student loans and crackdown on predatory private student loans. Hell, if Indiana public schools sent 11th and 12th graders to Ivy Tech full time, they would save 46% per student on average.

    1. And such policies would inherently lower the cost of university by providing community college level education, ending guaranteed money for universities, and educating students about why going out of state or to private schools is a bad idea if you can’t pay cash. Other countries do these things. We can too.
