Why not focus on deregulation and increased competition to better deliver on the energy policy goals Rep. Ed Soliday claims to champion—reliability, affordability, resiliency, stability, and environmental sustainability? If Indiana truly wants to modernize its grid and attract 21st-century industries, deregulation could break the hold of vertically integrated utilities that have little incentive to innovate or reduce costs.
All good as long as we existing customers don’t have to pay for improvements for big data and industrial centers, and we remain online when the grid gets short of power.

Pierce isn’t dreaming – he’s trying to do what is right unlike the super-majority.
The portion of the costs not reimbursed (-20%) will be paid by the rate payer.
