“We are sad to inform you that we will be closing. As of now, our last day of business will be December 23rd,” company officials posted Wednesday. “Major life circumstances over the last year have prompted us to step back and evaluate what needs to give. As we’ve pulled back more from the store, we’ve realized that without a true owner/operator, our little place isn’t going to make it. We are simply not generating enough to keep going.”
The Books & Brews franchise at 6420 Cornell Ave. is in the space formerly occupied by Monon Food Co., which closed in fall 2017.
In addition to the Broad Ripple location, the Indianapolis-based Books & Brews chain has nine other locations: three in Indianapolis and one each in Noblesville, Zionsville, Carmel, Brownsburg, Muncie and Oxford, Ohio.
Jason Wuerful launched Books & Brews in March 2014 at 9402 Uptown Drive near Interstate 69 and East 96th Street on Indianapolis’ northeast side.
