Our infrastructure has a long way to catch up to the hype of EV vehicles. One issue to consider is real estate. The prime locations for all this charging infrastructure is already taken, expensive, or both. Level 1 public charging stations will be in the stone age within a few years. Nobody with a modern EV charges publicly anyways unless it’s Level 2 or 3 DC fast charge. PHEV are the best option hands down but good luck finding one.
Do what Tesla does- have stations at meijers, getgo, parking garage etc
