    1. His line of reasoning is also faulty for other reasons.

      -> Investing in the tech now will make it more efficient later, when we have more green energy.

      -> Spending money on carbon capture tech & the green energy to make it happen will help advance both technologies, making each cheaper and more sustainable.

      It’s hard to balance the need to just *stop* polluting with cleaning up pollution: you don’t want to start repairing flood damage before the water is pumped out. But at the same time, the right regulation can pair carbon capture & green energy in such a way that accelerates progress in both areas: switching to a fully green electrical grid and re-capturing all of the carbon that we’ve emitted since the industrial revolution.
