Anderson economic development director Greg Winkler said he met this week with workers at Mill Steel Co.’s facility at 444 W. 29th St., offering to help them find jobs with other companies.
The Grand Rapids, Michigan-based company cited a decline in demand for its flat-rolled carbon steel products for the closure that could happen as soon as this month, The Herald-Bulletin reported.
The company also has plants in Jeffersonville, Indiana; Birmingham, Alabama; Detroit and Houston.
