  1. Joe Burr’eaux’ is one of the more talented QBs in the NFL. What’s held Cincy back is their defense. It’s becoming clearer that Steichen is influencing these hires…to the detriment of the franchise.Considering Don Martindale was interviewed and wasn’t selected says a lot. Remember, Steichen through the end of the season was quoted as saying in so many words ‘that he had full confidence’ in Gus Bradley. We can now see with this just fired DC that Steichen, and likely Ballard don’t want anything to do with a proven, no nonsense coordinator. In the mid 80’s Buddy Ryan and Mike Ditka ‘hated’ one another in running the Bears, yet they were terribly successful as a team. The performance of the Colts over the last few years is a result of management being ‘soft’ ‘non innovative’ and very ‘naive’
    If anyone thinks this is an ‘upgrade’ …well, you’ll find out soon enough.

  2. this is the D coordinator that took the bengals to the superbowl. the ownership in Cincy then did not retain the talent they had and you see the results. steichen had to support his coordinator – it is part of the job. Can’t air your dirty laundry during the season. I think this will be a good hire.
