Sure, but when will they weigh in on class basketball?
DST is the biggest joke we have ever played on ourselves. Maybe this time we can abolish it, I hope! There are too many self serving reasons on whether we go ahead or at standard time. Look at the sun and it will tell us. 12 noon should be straight up, not over at 11 AM, or at 1 PM.
Hate DST. Much more natural to have daylight in the mornings than evenings. What with warming temps, maybe even better to have less sunlight at the end of the day. Give me permanent standard time.
Most of Indiana survived a long time without switching clocks. I’m sure we could do survive it again…..
If Congress legislates year-round daylight savings time, the IN legislature should switch the majority of the state to central time.

To Kevin P, if we went strictly by sun time (12 noon should be straight up) then every city would be on a different time. That’s why time zones were established when the railroads started moving people between cities quickly.
For those wanting to make daylight time permanent year around – in Dec. & Jan. in Indiana it would not get light until almost 9:00am as opposed to the current 8:00am.
The reason this issue is so contentious is that it depends on where you live. On the east coast it gets light almost an hour earlier than in Indiana so year-around daylight time wouldn’t be so bad for them.
Moving to Central Standard time year round would mean that in Indiana it could get dark as early as 4:00pm in late Dec.
