Subscribe NowThe Indiana State Department of Health on Friday reported 1,136 new cases of COVID-19, the first time in 20 days that cases have topped 1,000 in the daily report. Cases have topped the 1,000 mark only twice in the past 29 days.
Indiana also reported the deaths of 20 more people from COVID-19, raising the cumulative number to 12,596.
The department said 2,273 new individuals were tested Thursday.
Statewide hospitalizations due to COVID-19 increased from 627 0n Wednesday to 637 on Thursday. The high mark was 3,460, set on Nov. 30.
The state said more than 1.04 million Hoosiers had been fully vaccinated against COVID-19 as of Friday at 5 a.m. More than 1.56 million had received the first dose of a two-dose vaccination.
