Hospitalizations rose from 641 on Saturday to 685 on Sunday. That’s the highest level since June 1, when 699 people were hospitalized in Indiana due to the virus. Hospitalizations are down from a recent high of 1,019 on May 4. The pandemic-high mark was 3,460, set on Nov. 30.
The health department on Monday reported 497 new cases of COVID-19.
The health department reported no new deaths from COVID-19 over the weekend, with the cumulative death toll remaining at 13,527. The state said it has averaged zero new deaths per day from COVID over the past seven days.
The state said more than 2.92 million Hoosiers have been fully vaccinated against COVID-19. More than 2.90 million had received the first dose of a two-dose vaccination.
Following are the latest COVID-19 numbers from the Indiana State Department of Health. The department updates its data daily based on information received through 11:59 p.m. the previous day. The department no longer issues reports on Saturday and Sunday.
