First, in regard to gun violence, Rep. Lucas states that “sadly, there are no solutions to this problem. …” To that, all I can say is “thank you” for that stirring leadership. Rep. Lucas should resign immediately as a state representative because clearly he has nothing to offer the citizens of Indiana.
And then Mr. Varvel suggests that we only need to turn to God and everything will be OK. Really? Seems to me that Scripture constantly tells us that God is not in the business of doing things that we can do ourselves. Since we created this gun culture, it is up to us, not God, to find solutions to it. These editorials simply show again, the excuses people have for doing nothing. For me, the voices from Dayton to their leaders ring loud and clear: “Do something!” Because obviously, doing nothing has brought us to this point.
