an emergency bill passed 14 months into the pandemic?
I live alone on Social Security. The upper limit for this program is 135% of the poverty level, which is very low, but my social security is only about 150% of the poverty level. The increases in prices for food and other items and services as a result of the pandemic are putting an additional squeeze on retirees because our cost-of-living increases are nowhere near covering these items.
I praise the government for helping those who are eligible for this program, but would it have killed them to include us?
