A couple thoughts on this article. First, I question where the electricity is going to one from to charge these vehicles. Some states currently can’t generate enough electricity to serve their needs. Second, in January and February I drove to and from Florida and on the entire trip, saw only one electric vehicle. If you run out of juice on the road, you can’t just call AAA and have them bring you a gallon to get you to the station.
Electricity is already transmitted across state lines.
There is no available comparison to gas & diesel per mile, and what is the safety of riding on multiple gallons of acid batteries or combustible lithium, not to mention respective vehicle weights. What is the cost per mile of electric, how much to refill (at pump, or outlet) for another 300 miles, and will there be a place to refill? It may work okay in highly populated metros, but the Biden bureaucrats ignore the rural areas with far different needs for transportation.
Hmmmm…. Cars with combustion engines seem to make it across vast rural areas since there are more than enough gas stations located at appropriate intervals. Same will pop up with recharging stations – many of which will be co-located at gas stations.
meanwhile china continues to build coal plants…
Whataboutism. Maybe we should just give up, right? /S
Electric vehicles are not about the environment!
OK, Steve-o!
Steve, progress is challenging and bumpy. You can’t seriously expect our world to live and produce power from coal or other pollution producing sources. The energy for EV’s is and will be coming from sustainable sources, battery storage, and a mix of less desirable sources. Above comments mentioned China…. who cares? This is the United States. It’s our job to lead the industry and make positive environmental changes that other countries follow.
“Mandating” what I drive is BS.
Steve R…100% correct.
I am concerned about the environment, however as usual USA picks up the slack for the entire world. Why aren’t China, India Venezuela and others even attempting environmental efforts? They don’t care AND laughing all the way to the bank as we buy environment saving products from across the globe … THAT is going to leave a carbon footprint!! US is being neutered and becoming a laughing stock.
Pray, the world needs to regain values.
