If you believe that China doesn’t have access to everything on TikTok, I have a bridge I’d like to sell you. It should be banned in the US or forced to sell to a non-Chinese company.
This is definitely true but not any more true than the fact that we have social media (Twitter, Facebook, etc.) right here in the USA doing exactly the same thing within our own country but yet we are not up in arms?!
It’s a fair point but I’d argue a separate one.
Twitter, Facebook, etc are banned in China. TikTok is banned in the US until either those services are allowed or it’s divested. Don’t let China have their cake and eat it too, regardless of how many donations you get from lobbyists.
(Amazing how banning super PAC’s and all political donations could solve a lot of problems.)
