  1. Fisker was always going to be a long shot as a startup, and they proved they were completely incompetent (again…) when it came time to deliver a product.

Tiny startup fails, just a blip in the BEV market. Mostly it shows the US DoE can’t pick winners. Let’s hope the government can claw back some of that.

  2. Not sure they’re trying to pick winners as much as trying to cast bread (dollars) upon the waters to see if it grows the little fish into something able to survive, or at least make a profit on the IPO or acquisition by a larger shark. New tech often comes from small companies, so its sometimes worth it to not pick the favorites, and just see who survives.

  3. I must say that the original Fisker Karma (which I think was a hybrid) must have been the most beautiful four-door car ever designed. It showed Henrik Fisker’s acumen in high-end car design.

  4. Anyone who invests in any of his future endeavors is crazy. He is 0 for 2 and while the vehicles might be attractive, they are very disappointing in performance and software. Read the Consumer Reports review. It was brutal.

  5. Yeah, just like anyone who invested in Thomas Edison and his silly electric candle were crazy, after he had at least seven prior failures

    1. Ok bright guy, a slight difference when Edison was working on his invention. He wasn’t soliciting umpteen billions in “investments” from shareholders and then making it go “poof” and leave them with nothing. Next time around, pony up some of your cash and see what happens to it.

  6. Let me see what he comes up with. a lot of tech titans and their team members made a lot of money in Silicon Valley with what were perceived as foolish endeavors.

And keep in mind, an investment of a few thousand dollars in the days of Edison would seem much like a billion today. So when he failed, it probably has similar impact on his investors.
