I like Jim Farley, he seems like a great guy, and he can get up on stage and talk about Ford’s future for 2hrs, but he’s not addressing the simple fact that manufactures are NOT producing vehicles people (9-5 middle-class) can afford. Find a EV, PHEV, or anything good for sub $35k… you can’t. The automotive industry is at real inflection point.

    1. Yep. Meanwhile the vehicles keep getting bigger and bigger and bigger…and more dangerous for pedestrians, not to mention worse for the environment. Yes, EVs are “better” for the environment than traditional combustion engines, but a future relying on humongous vehicles with $1000/month payments is not sustainable, electric or not.

    2. No one has adequately figured out the environmental damage of manufacturing
      only EV’s.
      But we will.

  2. All of the vehicles he mentioned are high-profit margin vehicles. All of the trucks, don’t have to comply with fuel milage laws. Just because they figured they could get away with it and still maintain a higher profit margin, while killing the environment.
