Alternate headline: “People that produce, transport, stock, and sell the TP and frozen chicken that teachers consume are also frustrated, but they show up for work”
Bingo!
Last I checked, most teachers in Indiana are still teaching. Most are working extra to cover both in-person and virtual kid. I won’t argue the point of there being other essential workers, however, teachers are showing up for work. Kids not being in buildings doesn’t negate teachers having to teach.
Teachers are just as essential to society as grocery workers?
You must not of had to suddenly homeschool your children when school shut down in March, did you?
If you didn’t come out of the pandemic with more respect for teachers, I don’t know what to tell you.
The sense of entitlement is breathtaking. It’s as if they’re the only class of professionals that matters.
And when the school year ends in May, the rest of the working world will still go to work every day. Teachers will spend their summer complaining how underpaid they are for the 9-10 month school year. How has the Biden Plan rewarded teachers union for their votes in November? #Bidening
I can’t believe the disrespect for teacher who have been working double-time to prepare and teach for in-school and on-line students. In a normal school year, various studies reveal that teachers put in 12 months worth of 40+ hour work weeks in 9 months of school time and THEN take summer jobs, go back to school themselves, and work to prepare innovative lessons for the coming school year. There is no down time for most of them.
Schools are petri dishes for infection spread, and many teachers and students have health conditions that would qualify them for vaccination now – except for the Governor’s limits. If neighboring states have figured out a way to prioritize educators, why exactly can’t Indiana?
Education has never been valued in Indiana.
When we treat teachers like this, we produce legislators who think the way they do here. Who needs gun permits? Why should women have the right to choose? Lets lower the flags for Rush Limbaugh! SMH.
