The Indiana Conservative Alliance and Grassroots Conservatives said the Anti-Mask Protest Rally is scheduled for Sunday from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. south of the Indiana Statehouse.
Robert Hall, leader of the organization, said the group feels that mask mandates are a government overstep that interfere with individual liberties.
“It’s time to stop any shutdown of the Indiana economy,” Hall said. “Government overreach did not eliminate the spread of the China virus nor prevent deaths.” Hall added
Rallies held by the group at the Statehouse and at the governor’s residence in April drew several hundred people in April.
Hall said the group does not believe masks are effective in stopping the spread of the novel coronavirus that causes COVID-19.
“It is unnecessary to wear masks,” he said. “Masks have little effect on reducing the spread of the China virus and give a false sense of health safety. Wearing masks can be harmful to your health, causing oxygen deficiency and toxic carbon dioxide in your blood.”

Complete morons.
Yeah, I’m wondering how wearing masks shuts down the economy. I’ve been working steadily since March, and wearing masks into the big-box home centers for supplies and materials. (Menards has mandated masks since long before any other big retailer.)
Support the economy, wear a mask.
…completely ignorant morons
I love the comment about carbon dioxide – are you wearing a sealed mask? if not, none of your gaseous “exhale” remains in the mask, only the droplets. If the carbon dioxide concern was valid, then we’re killing our kids when we put a scarf over their face in the winter. Idiot.
Reasons for wearing a mask: (1) a mask does capture droplets you exhale, especially if you cough or sneeze (2) a mask helps remind you not to touch your face (3) it also serves as a reminder to socially distance [something else the protesters are unlikely to do].
Yep. I agree. Pretty stupid argument.
How many nurses and surgeons drop dead from wearing masks? None.
Why do they wear them? To protest the patient.
Can’t fix stupid !
So we have studies that indicate masks DO help reduce spread of this and other droplet-borne respiratory illnesses. I’m not aware of studies linking mask utilization to CO2 toxicity. Maybe they exist, but I’m skeptical.
Who wishes these folks would expend their time and energy on a cause that results in wider good for our community?
We should probably all be worried about those poor surgeons who have been experiencing CO2 toxicity for years now performing surgeries while wearing masks. (And they thought they were just protecting their patients by not spewing their own germs into the surgical field. Guess all the carbon dioxide went to their reasoning abilities.)
I’m always amazed when people argue that the mask doesn’t stop the virus from getting through, but it can hold in carbon dioxide which is much, much smaller.
PEOPLE PLEASE…experts have said that If everyone just wears a mask outside of home…the virus can be controlled within a few months. Seems like a relatively easy fix. JUST…WEAR…THE…F@#$%^ mask already. STOP BEING SO SELFISH.
Selfishness and disregard for others or for our best shot at economic recovery is at play with some folks. That doesn’t seem to be the case with this group – if they were merely selfish, they wouldn’t spend time organizing a protest. Some of these people simply have a difficult time processing complex multivariable problems to arrive at the best solution for the greater good, resulting in inane positions. And some of these people seem to believe they may be pressed into service next week quartering Redcoats if they don’t stand up to this “outrageous government overreach” as a matter of principle.
Tim D. Maybe draft these mask naysayers. In certain hot parts of the world, in the armed services, they would be wearing masks far more cumbersome and heavier then those required to stop the Covid virus!
While I have no problem with the mask mandate, the notion they are 100% effective in shutting down the virus is nonsense. Los Angeles has had long-standing mask ordinance, people are complying with it, and they are still struggling with Covid-19.
