The company, known for its Sweet Mash Rye whiskey, Toasted Coconut Rum and Cinnamon Vodka, will be able to increase its production rate by more than 800% thanks to the new fermenters, it said.
Hard Truth announced its plans for growth Thursday, and company co-founder Jeff McCabe said the company intends to expand its geographic sales reach beyond a present roster of 16 states and the Bahamas.
“We expect to see our brands in 28 states by 2023,” McCabe said in a written statement.
A second rack house will allow whiskey storage capacity to increase from 4,000 barrels to 12,000.
Hard Truth also will transition to a round-the-clock production schedule after the 5,000-gallon fermenters join the company’s current 2,500-gallon fermenters.
Founded as Big Woods Brewing Co. in 2009, parent company BWQOHT serves as an umbrella for three divisions:
- Hard Truth Distilling Co.
- Big Woods restaurants
- Quaff On! craft beer
On July 22, Hard Truth Bar opened as a 50-seat kiosk inside the Fashion Mall at Keystone. A similar Hard Truth Bar opened last year at the Garage Food Hall.
A Big Woods Restaurant is expected to open at the Fashion Mall in coming months.
