A clean bill was passed 3 times under Trump with the deficit increasing $7.8 trillion. The GOP is holding the nation under hostage while cutting VA benefits, health insurance, clean energy incentives, Medicaid, border security and the police.
Of course the GOP takes out the IRS funding that they’re lying about which actually increases the deficit by $120 billion and protects the wealthy from tax audits.
The only way to reduce the deficit is to reduce wasteful spending with tax increases for the wealthy.
US defense budget is over $800 billion. Next largest budget is China with $300 billion. Eliminate the waste.
Both Democrats and people who actually believe Republicans care about deficits are suckers.
Democrats because they get themselves played 26 ways to Sunday … they refuse to play the zero sum Republican game, which is one reason they’ve been gerrymandered into irrelevance in a lot of places.
And then if you believe Republicans actually care about deficits, you’d wonder why they don’t also propose tax increases to go with their spending cuts. I mean, we were promised that the last round of tax cuts would pay for themselves! Of course they didn’t, they just exploded the deficit further, and since Republicans can’t roll those back, the only solution is spending cuts.
