The seven-day moving average of positive cases in Indiana dropped from 1,059 on Thursday to 1,043 on Friday—down from 1,057 a month ago.
The state reported eight new deaths from COVID-19, raising the cumulative total to 12,983.
Statewide hospitalizations due to COVID-19 decreased from 939 on Thursday to 917 on Friday—up from 795 a month ago. The all-time high mark was 3,460, set on Nov. 30.
The health department reported the testing of 5,359 new individuals.
The state said more than 2.11 million Hoosiers had been fully vaccinated against COVID-19 as of Saturday at 5 a.m. More than 2.43 million had received the first dose of a two-dose vaccination.

FWIW, I looked through the numbers today (5/9), as well. The last few days have been looking much better as far as positivity rate. As predicted, the numbers are falling. This is following a similar pattern to last year, so far. Cross your fingers that this continues. And, get outside and build your Vitamin D and strengthen your immune system while we have plenty of sunlight.
