Cases have topped 1,000 in eight of the past 11 daily reports.
The seven-day moving average of positive cases in Indiana was 1,101 on Friday, up from 1,065 on Thursday and from 852 two weeks ago.
Statewide hospitalizations due to COVID-19 increased from 785 on Thursday to 870 on Friday, their highest mark since Feb. 24. The all-time high mark was 3,460, set on Nov. 30.
The state reported seven new deaths from COVID-19, raising the cumulative total to 12,733.
The health department reported the testing of 6,194 new individuals.
The state said more than 1.37 million Hoosiers had been fully vaccinated against COVID-19 as of Saturday at 5 a.m. More than 1.95 million had received the first dose of a two-dose vaccination.
