10 thoughts on “Indiana GOP endorses Jim Banks’ U.S. Senate run

  1. No amount of money will persuade me to vote for Banks. As a member of the majority party in Congress, he is as responsible as any of the right- wing Republicans’ veering to witch hunt investigations and conspiracy theories instead of focusing on solutions to real problems. Next up: expect Banks to support a shut-down of the federal government.

    1. “the party of normal working-class Americans.”

      Keep on selling that, Jim.

They do find plenty of people willing to settle for laws punching down on “those people” who get blamed for everything … as opposed to polices that actually help working class Americans.

    2. Brent B, you mean like the years long investigation into a russian collusion that never existed but was put forward by Hillary Clinton and taken as gospel? The Democrats are the worst about all these investigations.

  2. Jim Banks sounds like a whiney loser. Appreciate your service but to compare the AFGHANISTAN WAR TO COMPETING AGAINST DEMOCRATS……well that’s frankly unhinged and should disqualify anyone from office. I believe we deserve better but until the mass white suburban population turns off Fox News this is what we get…..old, white, & male know-nothing politicians who run on culture-war topics with ZERO ability to legislate effectively. *sigh*

  3. Another embarrassment for Indiana. This is not a responsible GOP party, one focused on less government, lower taxes, and free market as historically was the case. Jim Banks’ being aligned with trump is a testimonial to and tacit acceptance of cultism and authoritarianism without checks and balances. Further concern remains with Jim Banks’ and other GOP support of bogus claims of voter fraud in an effort to overturn the election and correspondingly disenfranchise valid votes cast by US citizens in other states. Ridiculous claims, outlandish behaviour and wasted taxpayer dollars on vengeful playground-esque vendettas masquerading as important congressional investigations — this is the theater of Jim Banks.

Now, was everything proposed by trump wrong — No. But was he presidential in putting the nation before narcissism — No. Neither the GOP or Dems are right about everything. But it is time for more in the GOP to recognize and state clear wrongdoing. And it is time for both parties to work for citizens instead of themselves first, party second and citizens last or at fundraising events. Enough!

  4. Comparing an election to a war is exactly the kind of inflammatory rhetoric that is dividing the country. And yes, diversity in the GOP is EXACTLY the same as DEI so stop talking out of both sides of your mouth. Focusing on fringe but emotionally laden topics like all the culture war nonsense shows a complete disinterest in solving real problems that matter to Hoosiers. The endless and divisive distraction on manufactured “issues” will prevent us from dealing with health care quality and costs. education, climate crisis, an economy that works for all, crime and gun violence, immigration, threats from China, Russia, Iran and North Korea and so many more. Ten years from now when we’ve been pushed aside by China as the leading world power, the GOP will say, “yes but at least we took dangerous books out the library.” Wake up and stop playing bs political games! And no, I’m not a radical lefty! I’m a very concerned American who wants what’s best for our country not our politicians.
