Further proof that the advanced-care industry owns the Republican Party. Shameful.
At least Indiana is consistent. They cut funding for Home health and home care programs to move Medicaid funds from those that need it to the general fund (to the tune of $700M) and are now doing the same thing to extended care and long-term care facilities. All of these clowns need to go, and we start with people who actually want to fiscally run the government while taking care of their constituents, rather than the PAC and party-centric versions we have now who apparently are morally bankrupt.
This is “Difficult” because when you need to pay the executive 6+ figure salaries, and churn out a 10% profit to greedy investors, it’s hard to cough up the money to pay staff at a decent level, and its even harder to attract additional staff.
Yes, “Difficult” decisions will have to be made.
Indiana is stealing from the federal government funds intended to take care of the old to pay executives those big salaries and to build shiny new hospitals.
Remember that the next time they claim to be pro-life.
In Indiana nursing “homes” are closer to being for profit prisons than health care facilities and far more costly than under funded and under utilized home care services that most patients prefer to have access to when the need arises.
