The state also reported 14 new deaths due to the coronavirus. Reported deaths due to COVID-19 have exceeded single digits in 135 of the past 136 days.
The department said 5,359 new individuals were tested Monday.
Statewide hospitalizations due to COVID-19 rose slightly, from 873 on Monday to 886 on Tuesday. The high mark was 3,460, set on Nov. 30.
The state said more than 482,000 Hoosiers had been fully vaccinated against COVID-19 as of Wednesday at 5 a.m. More than 920,000 had received the first dose of a vaccination.
In its weekly update of long-term-care-facility COVID-19 counts, the department said there were 86 new cases and 93 more deaths among residents over the week ended Feb. 17, bringing resident totals during the pandemic to 24,251 cases and 5,960 deaths. There have been 15,803 cumulative staff cases and 22 staff deaths.
